Confidence & Self-Esteem

Hypnosis for warmth with people

You are easy to be around, and it shows.

Strain often makes it harder to be liked, so the recording spends its time quieting that specific effort down.

You rehearse the feeling of entering a space without asking to be included, and attention settles on the simple fact of being easy with people.

The feeling that you are taking up too much space is usually quiet. You might stand near the edge of a group and say very little, or spend an entire conversation waiting for the other person to look away.

It is not that anyone has been unkind, but you are tired of working so hard to be invisible.

What’s in it

A quiet certainty that people are glad you are there, and the ease that makes it true.

Why do it

Expecting to be liked removes the strain that was the only thing making you hard to like.

Timeline: Start to Finish

This build focuses on repeating the sense that you are easy to be around. The middle stages rehearse that specific certainty until it feels like a simple fact rather than a wish.

3 of the 4 stages are named techniques with a published origin, credited under each.

  1. InductionStage 16 min

    Progressive Muscle Relaxation

A classic head-to-toe relaxation. Tense and release, or simply soften, each muscle group in sequence.

Three ways to say it

The same goal, written three ways. You pick the one that sounds like something you would believe — and you can hear a different one tomorrow without rebuilding anything.

Balanced

You are easy to be around, and it shows. The default.

Future self

Meet the version of you who is someone people are glad to see.

New identity

Step into being someone people are glad to see, starting now.

Where it sits

Walking in steadier, and how you speak to yourself when nobody is listening.

Before you press play

Hypnosis is not for everyone. If you have epilepsy, a psychotic illness, or you are under psychiatric care, talk to your clinician before using this — here or anywhere.

Why this works — and what the research actually says

Group-level, not session-level: no study has tested this exact session, and we will not pretend otherwise. Every source below was opened and read on 2026-08-25 before it was quoted.

Why do it as hypnosis?

Trying to talk yourself into certainty is a circular game that nobody wins. A better approach is to rehearse the feeling of being at ease when nobody is asking anything of you.

The audio spends its time repeating the idea that you are welcome, so that the thought is familiar before you ever leave the house. It is not a trick; it is simply a different way to use your attention.

Self-esteem: one good trial, in one specific group

Ninety-five women who had finished cancer treatment were randomly assigned either to eight weeks of group self-hypnosis and self-care, or to a waiting list.

Self-esteem rose in the hypnosis group and barely moved in the control group. It is a real result — and it is one study, in one population, where self-esteem was not the main thing being measured.

  • 95 women who had completed cancer treatment, eight weekly sessions
  • Self-esteem improved; the waiting-list group barely changed
  • A secondary outcome, in a specific group — not the general public

Worth knowing: Self-esteem was a secondary outcome, not what the trial was designed to test. The participants were cancer survivors and overwhelmingly women, an imbalance the authors flag as unexpected.

They also note that "other late measurement times could have been useful to investigate the long-term evolution".

The exact wording and figures

Ninety-five women who had completed cancer treatment were randomised to group self-hypnosis and self-care, or to a wait-list.

Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale scores rose from 29.63 to 31.83 in the hypnosis group (d = 0.46, p < .001). The wait-list control group showed negligible change (d = 0.16, p = .857).
